Welcome to website of the Maryland chapter of the Council for American Private Education - CAPE. Since its founding in 1971, CAPE has worked tirelessly to preserve and promote educational pluralism so that parents across America have a choice in the schooling of their children. By extension, Maryland CAPE has similarly served the citizens of Maryland, providing an educational resource and collective voice for Maryland's nonpublic school community.
Polling shows strong statewide voter support for the legislative proposal for the Maryland Education Tax Credit. Almost 7 out of every 10 voters support the proposal, and place great value on its potential to expand educational opportunities for lower- and middle-income families.

Maryland Education Leaders Gather for Annual Breakfast
On Thursday, May 15, the Maryland chapter of the Council for American Private Education (Maryland CAPE), held its annual Spring Breakfast, gathering the leaders of Maryland’s nonpublic schools and state education officials. The annual event, hosted this year at Forcey Christian School in Silver Spring, drew close to 100 educators and school leaders from across the spectrum of faith-based and independent schools.
Inaugural Fall Meeting Presents Government Program Workshop
On Monday, October 7, 2013, the Maryland chapter of theCouncil for American Private Education (Maryland CAPE), held its inaugural Fall Meeting, gathering administrators from a large collection of the state's nonpublic schools, as well as Maryland state education officials. The event was hosted on the beautiful campus of the Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS), in its Kerr Center for the Arts.
