Providing a strong voice for Maryland's nonpublic school community
Maryland CAPE Candidate Surveys
Among other activities, the Maryland chapter of the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) acts as a legislative coalition for the voting families, teachers and administrators for Maryland’s 120,000-plus nonpublic school students. For the 2018 elections, Maryland CAPE gave all candidates for the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates, the opportunity to state their positions on a number of Maryland-specific issues important to our state's nonpublic schools. The candidates were asked whether they “Support” or “Oppose” four separate issue statements. A blank response means that the candidate chose not to assert a position on that particular issue. Candidates were also given the opportunity to comment on any specific issue, in order to explain their position. A separate link to all comments offered by candidates is found below.
WHEN TO VOTE
Please remember that there are TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO VOTE!
In many Maryland legislative districts, the June primary election is the most outcome-determinative.
In others, the general election is most important. You votes can be influential in both elections.
